Family Health Services

Children cannot learn if they are not healthy. Les Enfants d'Abord has fully integrated a family health program into our services to ensure that our children have the resources they need to remain healthy enough to focus on their education and successfully pursue an education.

This program is split into two parts:

  • Educational seminars for parents (since 2017) and

  • Access to health screenings and treatment (since 2018)

Educational Seminars for Parents are judgement-free discussions led by a local nurse where parents are free to ask any questions they may have. These seminars are currently held weekly and are a requirement for families who have enrolled their children in our educational programs. Topics covered by these seminars include:

  • Disease prevention, identification, and treatment

  • Behavioral health

  • Sanitation, clean water, and hand-washing

  • Traditional vs. modern medicine

  • Household toxins and pollution

  • Nutrition

  • Sexual and Reproductive Health

We have partnered with local Thiès-based doctor, Dr. Mamadou Kandji, and his medical office, Cabinet Paramedical KANDJI, to offer access to health screenings and treatment options for our children and their families.

We are working with leading institutions and consulting experts in relevant fields to ensure that the health services offered by us through our partners are appropriate, complete, and provide the highest level of service.
